Description
Number 26 Newport Court is a terrace house with a shop that was rebuilt between 1784 and 1785. It is constructed of stock brick and has a concealed roof. The building stands four storeys high and is two windows wide. On the ground floor, there is a square-headed house doorway to the right, which features a fanlight, and a wooden shop front from the mid-19th century that has a bracketed projecting cornice. The upper floors have recessed glazing bar sashes set under flat gauged red brick arches. The building is topped with a parapet that has coping. It was originally part of Nicholas Barbon's development of the Newport House site in 1682.
