Description
Nos 77 and 78 Pall Mall SW1 is a Grade II listed building originally designed as a single town house by T. H. Wyatt between 1862 and 1863. It features yellow brick with stone dressings and a slate roof, showcasing an opulent blend of Italianate and French Second Empire styles. The building stands three storeys high with a basement and a steep, dormered mansard roof. It is four windows wide, with a projecting porch wing on the right that includes a wide stone portico and an elaborate bay window with curved glazing on its sides, extending through two storeys. Above this, a large, pedimented dormer interrupts the balustrade, topped with an ogee, slated dome. The ground floor windows on the left are framed with architrave surrounds, while the first and second-floor windows are vertically aligned and adorned with decorated panels. The building has a prominent cornice and a balustraded parapet. No 77, which is the entrance wing, is now connected with the Club at Nos 71 to 76, while No 78 is part of No 79.
