Description
79 Pall Mall is a building constructed between 1866 and 1868 as offices for the Eagle Insurance Company, designed by David Brandon. It features Portland stone with some pink granite and has a slate roof, showcasing an ornate Italian architectural style. The building stands three storeys high, with a basement and a dormered attic, and is three windows wide. There are two entrances on the ground floor, with the left entrance featuring a stone porch. The windows on the ground and first floors are semicircular arched sashes without glazing bars. A stone balcony with iron balustrading is located between the dies at the first floor, and the building is topped with a crowning entablature that has a festooned frieze and a balustraded parapet, which is interrupted by pedimented dormers.
