Description
This is a mid-19th century terrace of houses located on Warwick Avenue. The terrace comprises numbers 37 to 59 (odd numbers) and is built of brick, with a plastered exterior and channelled detailing to the ground floor. The terrace is four storeys high, with a basement level, and each house has three bays. It presents a symmetrical appearance, with projecting bays at each end and a central break. Each house has a projecting, dentil-detailed Ionic porch containing double doors with overlights. Round-arched sash windows are set within the side walls of the porches. The windows on the upper floors are segment-arched, with key stones. A cast iron balcony is present on the first floor. The tripartite sash windows on the upper floors are set within pilaster surrounds, with a segmental pediment over the centre. Ionic capitals feature on the projecting bays. The second floor has segment-arched sash windows, with a pierced stucco parapet to the outer bays. The third-floor windows are sash windows in plain surrounds. A cornice runs along the top of the building. The terrace is set back from the pavement and has cast iron basement railings.
