Description
This is a terrace of houses, numbers 24 to 37, built around 1830 as part of the Portland Estate development. It extends the existing terrace of numbers 3 to 6 and 9 to 23. The terrace is constructed of stucco with a slate roof and stands three storeys high. The fronts are two windows wide, with semi-circular arched doorways to the left, leading to panelled doors with decorated knocker roundels, fluted jambs, and moulded doorheads, all topped by fanlights. Number 37 incorporates an altered corner shop with a splayed entrance. The windows are recessed glazing bar sashes. The first-floor windows are set within architraves and have a sill band. A crowning cornice and blocking course tops the terrace. Balconettes with a "Chinese" pattern are fitted to the first-floor windows, while the second-floor windows appear to retain original louvred shutters.
