Mews building. c.1780 mews building to No. 13 Devonshire Place q.v. and with original "polite" west front designed to be seen from the house; mews front rebuilt early C.20. Stucco, slate roof. Front to mews neo-Georgian, original west front has elegant tetrastyle neo-classical composition. 2 storeys. 3 windows wide with slightly advanced pedimented centre bay. Semicircular arched ground floor windows with patterned radial fanlights and margin lights flanking central French window, all in rusticated surrounds with voussoirs to arches. 1st floor has square headed glazing bar sashes recessed in architrave surrounds flanking central sunk panel bearing coat of arms. The whole is articulated by a Corinthian order with corner pilasters and central pairs of engaged columns, on pedestals, carrying entablature with fluted frieze and cornice; the advanced centre pedimented and with swag enrichment to the entablature frieze; 1st floor guilloche band to each bay.
