TQ 2881 NE CITY OF WESTMINSTER HARLEY STREET, W1 45/5 (East side) 24.1.69 Nos. 120 and 122 G.V. II Pair of terraced town houses. c.1784 Portland Estate development probably by John White in partnership with the plasterer Thomas Collins. Stock brick with channelled stucco ground floors; slate roofs. No. 120 of 4 storeys, basement and dormered mansard, No. 122 of 5 storeys and basement. 3-window wide fronts. Broad semicircular arched doorways to right; panelled doors, No. 120 with sidelights and No. 122 with pilastered jambs, moulded doorheads under fanlights. Recessed sashes, under flat gauged arches to upper floors. 1st floor plat band, patera-band frieze and cornice over 3rd floor as crowning cornice with blocking course to No. 120. Cast iron geometric patterned early C.19 balconies across 1st floor. Cast iron area railings with urn finials. Interior of No. 120 retains a number of good internal features with top lit geometrical stone staircase with wrought iron balustrade, delicate friezes and inlaid marble chimneypieces; etc.
