Description

TQ 2897 NE CITY OF WESTMINSTER GROSVENOR PLACE, SW 89/18 14.1.70 Nos. 18 to 20 (consec.) G.V. II Terraced town houses. c.1855 remodelling, probably by Thomas Cundy II of early C.19 houses. Stuccoed, slate roofs. Italianate style. 5 storeys and basement. Nos. 18 and 20 have 3-window wide fronts, No. 19 has a 4-window wide front. Entrances to right and left and in 2nd bay from left to No. 19: Doric portico-porches and archivolt arched doorways. Recessed plate glass sashes, those on 1st floor in Ionic columned pedimented aedicules, those on upper floors corniced. Large crowning cornice with attic windows between console brackets. 1st floor aediculed windows have balustraded stucco balconettes on console brackets; plainer stucco balconettes to 2nd floor windows. Cast iron area railings.
