Description
No. 8 New Row is a terrace house with a shop, dating from the early 19th century, featuring a refacing or rebuild with renewed brickwork on the upper two floors. The building is constructed of stock brick and has a concealed roof. It stands four storeys tall and is three windows wide. The shop front, dating from the mid to late 19th century, includes pilasters and brackets that flank an entablature-fascia. The first floor has recessed sashes beneath flat gauged arches, while the second and third floors have segmental arches, with a plat band on the first floor. The building is topped with a parapet that has coping. This property is included for its group interest in a street that was laid out in the 1630s as part of the Bedford Estate Covent Garden development.
