Description
This is a pair of late 18th-century terrace houses located in Bedfordbury, Westminster. Number 23 is constructed of yellow stock brick, while number 24 is of multi-coloured stock brick. Both have tiled roofs. The buildings are three storeys tall, with dormered mansards. Number 23 has a single window on its front facade, whereas number 24 is slightly wider, with two dormers.
The ground floor of number 23 features a bowed shop window inserted in the mid-20th century, designed to match those of Goodwin's Court. Number 24 has an entrance passage to Goodwin’s Court on its left side, and the remains of an early to mid-19th century shop front. This includes the original square-headed shop doorway with a panelled door and fanlight, though a bowed shop window has now been inserted to match the style of Goodwin's Court. The upper floors have recessed sash windows with glazing bars, set within segmental arches. A parapet with coping runs along the top of the building.
These house are part of the Goodwin's Court and New Row development.
