No. 4 Norfolk Road is a detached villa built around 1830 as part of the Portland Estate St John's Wood villa development. The building is constructed of stucco and features a slate roof, showcasing a Cottage Orne Tudor-Gothic style. It stands two storeys tall with a one-storey wing facing Woronzow Road. The villa is two windows wide, with an entrance bay to the left and an advanced gabled bay on the right.

The entrance features a four-centred arched doorway with a drip mould, above which is a three-light sash window also with a drip mould and a small bargeboarded gablet. To the right, there is a canted stucco oriel on the ground floor with mullion-transomed lights and a shaped stone pent roof. The first floor has a mullion-transomed window with a drip mould beneath a broad bargeboarded gable. The bargeboards are enriched and topped with spike finials. The return of the building has similar window features and a crenellated parapet, while the wing is notable for its very elaborate twisted chimney. This villa type is also found in the nearby Eyre Estate in the Abbey Road area.
