Description

Nos 76 to 96 on Park Road, built around 1822-1830, form a terrace of houses with shops as part of a Crown Estate development. The buildings are constructed of stock brick with painted wood shop fronts and have concealed slate roofs. They rise to three storeys and feature two-window wide fronts. Most shop fronts are pilastered, with square-headed house doorways on the left that have panelled doors and fanlights. The shop doors on the right are panelled and glazed, though some have been altered. Notably, No 92 has a projecting shop window with large panes. All shop fronts are topped with narrow entablature-fascias, and No 82 has an in-swept frieze. No 88 is distinguished by cast iron crocketed finials over consoles flanking the fascia. The upper floors contain recessed sash windows, most of which have glazing bars and are set under flat gauged arches. The terrace is topped with a stone coped parapet.
