TQ 2981 SE CITY OF WESTMINSTER OXFORD STREET W1 58/100 (North side) Nos 54-62, even (Evelyn House) - II Commercial premises. 1909, designed by H Percy Adams and Charles Holden. Portland stone. Roof not visible, Corner site. Four storeys plus attic storey. 4 bays to Oxford Street. Stripped classical manner. Strip pilasters between shops to ground floor, except to corner where altered mid C20. Giant strip pilasters rising between bays from first into third storey. Semicircular windows to first floor. Windows above square headed, in triplets; architraved; sashes, plate glass. Cast iron balconies to second floor. Modillion cornice above third floor. Plastered paired windows to attic. Slab chimneys. Return similar but with dormers.
