Description
No 313 Oxford Street is a shop and commercial premises built around 1870-1880, featuring a mid-20th century shop front on the ground floor. The building is constructed of red brick with stucco dressings and showcases an eclectic architectural design. It stands four storeys tall and is three windows wide. The first floor features a broad canted bay window with six wooden casement lights and an entablature. The second floor has an ornately architraved and crested two-light window, flanked by shell-headed niches that once held figures, possibly supporting lanterns. The upper floors are framed by stucco shafts on either side, with eclectic detailing that varies by storey, culminating in a cornice and blocking course topped with a tall, shaped brick parapet. The stucco coping is elegantly scrolled into an open pediment cresting.
