Description

No. 11 Golden Square is a Grade II* listed terrace house built around 1778, with its front rebuilt in a facsimile style in 1954, reusing decorative Coade stonework. The building is constructed of amber brick and features a slate roof. It stands four storeys tall with a basement and is three windows wide. The doorway is located to the left and is framed by a Coade stone case with panelled pilasters and decorated dosserets flanking a fanlight and cornice above. The entrance includes a six-panel door and a patterned fanlight. The windows are revealed glazing bar sash windows set under flat gauged arches. The first floor has an enriched stone plat band and a plain sill band, along with an enriched cornice band and parapet with coping. Wrought iron area railings are present. Inside, there is a cut string staircase with a wrought iron balustrade, and the first-floor front room features decorative plasterwork on the ceiling in mahogany.
