Description
The Beehive Public House is a terraced public house located on Crawford Street in the City of Westminster. It dates from the early to mid 19th century and features a stucco facade with a concealed slate roof. The building stands four storeys tall and has a broad front that is two windows wide. The ground floor has been altered in the mid 20th century, particularly the public house front under the fascia.
The upper floors are characterized by tripartite sash windows. The first-floor windows are framed by pilasters and topped with a pediment, while the second-floor windows have consoled cornices. The third-floor windows are set within architrave surrounds. The window bays are divided and flanked by three panelled piers that feature paterae stops at the top, just below the third-floor sill course. These piers continue as plain piers through the third floor, leading to a cornice that is adorned with modillion and fret ornamentation, topped with a blocking course.
