Description
No. 14 Garrick Street is a former mission house and school built in 1860 by Arthur Blomfield. The building is constructed of stock brick with red brick bands and stone dressings, topped with tiled roofs. It showcases a High Victorian Gothic style with an irregular composition. The structure has four storeys and gabled attics, featuring a seven-window wide block facing Floral Street, an adjoining four-window wide splayed block, and a two-window entrance extension at the corner. The main entrance is curved arched and has a pedimented drip string above it. The building includes square-headed and pointed recessed sash windows, some of which have relieving arches. Above the entrance at the first-floor level, there is a stone figure of Christ set in a canopied niche. The main gables are adorned with rose windows.
