Description
No. 15 Stratton Street is a large terraced town house built between 1895 and 1900 by J. Harold Cooper. It features a Portland ashlar façade and a slate roof, showcasing an Arts and Crafts style with elements of Jacobethan design. The building stands five storeys tall with a part attic, presenting a broad front that is three windows wide. Its exceptional height and gable accentuate the vertical lines and symmetry of the structure.
The ground floor has a tall, off-centre arched doorway with a side light, although other ground floor windows have been altered. The upper floors are adorned with mullioned and transomed windows, and there is a canted oriel window spanning the second and third floors. The building is topped with one large and one small gable featuring saddlestones, along with weathered parapet coping. Additionally, there are two "dragon" rainwater heads and downpipes, designed in the original Arts and Crafts style.
