Description

Magazine Cottage, also known as the Late Ordnance Lodge, is an estate cottage built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of stock brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. The design is influenced by the Jacobethan style, following the principles of Loudon. The building is two stories tall and three windows wide, displaying a slight asymmetry.

The central entrance porch has a four-centred arch and is topped with a weather-coped parapet. To the left, there is a canted stone mullioned window with Tudor arched lights, along with a two-light mullioned window on the first floor, which is set beneath a raised gable parapet. On the right side, there is a three-light stone mullioned window, with a two-light gabled window above it. The steep gable end roof is adorned with fleur-de-lis ridge tile cresting.
