Description
Nos 46 and 47 Floral Street are a pair of end-of-terrace houses with a shop, built around 1830. They are constructed of blackened brick with a stucco ground floor and feature a slate roof. The buildings rise three storeys with a dormered mansard. Each house has one window facing Floral Street, while No 47 has a three-window return to Hanover Place. No 46 includes a house doorway on the left, which is square-headed with a recessed panelled door and a fanlight above. The shop front is made of painted wood, featuring a corner entrance and pilasters that support an entablature-fascia with a dentil cornice. The original shop windows and doorway have been replaced with later 20th-century sashes. The upper floors have recessed glazing bar sashes set beneath shallow segmental gauged arches, which are dressed with stucco as voussoirs, complete with a central key block. The buildings also have stone sill bands and parapet coping.
