Description
The yard premises located at the rear of numbers 22 and 23 Long Acre in the City of Westminster date back to around 1833 and were originally used as coachmakers' premises. The building features a framed structure made of cast iron and timber, with painted brick infill and slate roofs. It is arranged around a central courtyard and has three storeys, measuring four bays long and three bays wide. The ground floor includes a cast iron open colonnade that supports galleried upper floors, which are fitted with continuous ranges of small pane glazed sash windows. On the north and west sides, there are central double hoist doors equipped with wrought iron pivot cranes. A temporary wooden roof covers the courtyard. Above the entrance from the street, there is a cast iron plaque displaying the City of London Coat of Arms along with the inscription "J. Harvey & Co., London 1833."
