Description
No. 58 Balcombe Street is a terraced house built around 1815 to 1820 as part of the Portman Estate development. The building is constructed from stock brick with a stucco channelled ground floor and features a concealed slate roof. It stands four storeys tall with a basement and is two windows wide.
The entrance is located to the left and consists of a semicircular arched doorway with a panelled door set in pilaster jambs, topped by an entablature doorhead and a radial patterned fanlight. The ground floor has a semicircular arched sash window with radial glazing at the top, while the upper floors have recessed glazing bar sashes under flat arches. A plat band runs above the ground floor, and the building is topped with a parapet that has coping. Additionally, there are cast iron area railings with urn finials.
