Description

This is a terrace of houses located on the east side of Kensington Gardens Square in London, dating from the mid-19th century. The buildings are constructed of stucco, and have four storeys, an attic, and a basement. Each house features three windows closely spaced along the front. The ground floor is vertically channelled. Projecting Doric porches provide entrance points, and the houses have panelled doors. The windows on the ground and third floors are square-headed, while the other windows are round-headed, grouped in triplets with shafting between them. The first and second floor triplets are corniced, and the centre windows on the second floor have pediments. The windows are plate glass sashes. A console cornice sits above the third floor, and a subsidiary cornice defines the attic. Cast iron area railings are present. The terrace is an integral part of the planned layout of Kensington Gardens Square.
