Description

Nos 104 and 106 are a pair of semi-detached houses dating from approximately 1840. They are constructed of brick with stucco dressings and have a slate hipped roof to a parapet. Each house has a facade of two windows, with an additional one-bay, single-storey projection to the outer edge of No 106 and a two-storey, two-bay extension to No 104. The houses are arranged over two storeys, an attic, and a basement. The outer bays of the main body of each house project slightly, featuring square-headed, pilastered, and corniced entrances. No 104 has a projecting Doric porch that has been added. The houses feature panelled doors, architraves to the square-headed windows and doors, and cornices to the ground floor. They have sash windows with glazing bars. A cornice runs above the first floor, and there is a parapet to the roof. Pedimental blocking courses are present to the outer one and two-storey bays. Gabled attic windows are visible on each house. The properties are part of a line of similar pairs of houses that front Maida Vale.
