Description

A terrace of houses at 4-8 Cavendish Avenue, London NW8, built in the mid-19th century. The buildings are constructed of stucco with a slate hipped roof that extends to the eaves. The terrace comprises three storeys and a basement, with each house originally designed to be three windows wide. The central house features a projecting porch, while the outer houses replicate this detail in their outer bays. These porches are pilastered and topped with dentil cornices, and are solid-sided with arched sidelights. The ground floor is treated with channelling. The windows are square-headed, with architraves on the ground floor and cornices on the first floor, and are sash windows, some with glazing bars.
