Description

No. 11 Hinde Street is a circa 1800 terraced town house, originally part of the Portman Estate development on the east side of Manchester Square. It was later altered to become flats with a shop. The building is stuccoed with a concealed slate roof and stands four storeys high over a basement. It has three bays, with a two-window segmental bow on the right-hand side extending the full height of the building. The original entrance has been altered and now includes a wrought iron grill to the right, while a mid-20th century neo-Georgian shop front features a bracketed fascia and segmental bowed display window. The windows are recessed, square-headed sashes, most retaining their original glazing bars. A plain sill band runs across the third floor, and the building is topped with a plain parapet and coping. The interior has been altered to accommodate flats. The building is listed for its group value.
