Description
No. 25 Knox Street is a terraced "4th rate" house, likely built between 1810 and 1820 as part of the Portman Estate development. The building features painted brick with a stuccoed ground floor and has a concealed slate roof. It stands three storeys tall with a basement and is two windows wide. To the left, there is a semicircular arched doorway with a panelled door and a patterned fanlight, flanked by thin pilasters that support a narrow frieze and cornice. The ground floor has a slightly set forward surround for a tripartite sash window, while the upper floors feature recessed sashes beneath flat gauged arches. The building is topped with a parapet that has coping, and there are cast iron area railings.
