Description

These are a group of terraced houses built around 1800 as part of the Gloucester Place development in central London. The houses are constructed of stock brick with a channelled stucco finish to the ground floor, and have concealed slate roofs. They are four storeys high, with a basement, and each front has two windows. A semicircular arched doorway is located on the right-hand side, featuring stucco architraves, panelled doors, reeded heads, and fanlights. The fanlight above the door of number 102 has a radial glazing pattern. The upper floors contain recessed sash windows, set under flat, gauged red brick arches. A narrow stucco band defines the top of the ground floor. A crowning stucco cornice and blocking course runs along the top of the building. Numbers 100 to 104 have original geometric patterned cast iron balconettes, while number 106 has a full-width balcony of a similar design. Cast iron spearhead area railings are present, topped with urn finials.
