Description

Alhambra Cottage is a detached villa dating to approximately 1840. It is constructed of stucco with a slate roof, and designed in an Islamic style. The house is two storeys high with a basement, and comprises three main bays, with the left bay projecting. The central entrance features a square head and decorative architrave. The right bay has windows with horseshoe arches. The ground floor centre window and the window on the left side have stilted semi-circular arches, flanked by smaller blind arches with intervening coupled columns; the window above has a square head and decorative architrave. Decorative cusps are present on the ground floor windows, which have metal glazing bars with coloured glass and casements. A decorative band runs between the two storeys, and there is decorative coving to the eaves.
