Description

The Wimbledon Park War Memorial features a gabled cross with a sculpture of Christ, positioned atop a tall octagonal shaft. This shaft is supported by an octagonal plinth, which is decorated on alternating faces with quatrefoil-style designs and the names of those who fell in service. The plinth sits on a two-step octagonal base; the upper section displays the words "LEST.WE.FORGET" on its front face, with "A.D. 1914" and "A.D. 1918" inscribed on the side faces.
