Description
The Church of Holy Trinity is a mid-19th century building, constructed around 1863, with the south aisle and transept dated to 1872 by John M K Hahn. It is designed in the Decorated style and features a nave and transepts made of Kentish rag stone with ashlar dressings. The roof is slate, accented with green slate bands. The north-west tower, which has angle buttresses and a tall stone broach spire added in 1888, is a prominent feature of the church's asymmetrical design. There is a pointed-arch tower door on the north side, which is complemented by good wrought iron gates and a hanging lantern. The east window is traceried, and the interior includes octagonal piers with stiffleaf capitals and a ribbed open timber waggon roof. The chancel arch and timber chancel roof are also notable features.
