Grove House the Incorporated Froebel Educational Institute

Grove House, the incorporated Froebel Educational Institute, is a building designed by James Wyatt in 1777 for Sir Joshua Vanneck. It has undergone later alterations and additions. The entrance front is two storeys high with three windows in the centre, flanked by three-window wings and an eight-window extension to the west. It features a pedimented centre with a balustraded portico on the ground floor and a Palladian window in the centre of the first floor. There is a dentil cornice, and the wings and extension have balustraded parapets with pilaster treatment at the angles.

The garden front is three storeys tall, with a three-window splayed bay in the centre, topped by a balustraded parapet. The wings have pedimented centres and balustraded parapets, with the east wing also featuring a projecting ground floor loggia and an iron balcony railing above. Inside, the building retains original features such as enriched plaster walls and ceilings, marble mantelpieces, and a staircase topped with a domed lantern on ornamental pendentives.
