Description

This is a substantial block of terraced houses, dating from the first half of the 19th century, located on the east side of Tredegar Square. The building is constructed of yellow brick with a stucco cornice and blocking course, and has slate roofs. It is three storeys high with basement levels, and originally contained windows with gauged flat arches. Most windows have glazing bars, and the first floor is set in shallow round-headed recesses. The ground floor features round-headed openings, except for the central section of numbers 13 to 16, which have recessed entrances framed by fluted Doric columns. Numbers 13 to 16 have a stucco ground floor and pilasters extending through the first and second floors, topped by a pediment over the central two windows. Number 8 has been partially rebuilt and lacks its original cornice. The buildings form a group with the Cooper’s Company School on Morgan Street.
