Description
This is a range of terraced houses at 53 to 64 Tredegar Square, dating from the first half of the 19th century. The buildings are constructed of yellow brick with a stucco cornice and blocking course, and have slate roofs. Nos 53 to 64 have red brick window dressings. The houses are three storeys high, with basements. Nos 53 to 54 have two windows each, featuring gauged flat arches. Recessed windows are fitted with glazing bars. The first-floor windows are set in shallow, round-headed recesses, while the ground-floor windows have round arches. The central block (Nos 57 to 60) has a stucco ground floor and pilasters rising through the first and second floors, topped with a pediment over the central two houses. Some fanlights and pilasters are found at the doorways. Buildings 1 to 48 and 53 to 64 form a group with the Cooper’s Company School on Morgan Street.
