Description

The Drapers Almshouses and Chapel, located on Priscilla Road, were built in 1706. This structure consists of a range of four tenements with a central chapel. It is constructed of brick with red brick dressings. The chapel features a pedimented gable and a modillion cornice, with a tiled roof that has overhanging eaves and a moulded cornice, although it has undergone significant repairs and is currently felted. The building has quoins and stands two storeys high, with two windows on each side. Originally, the windows were double-hung sashes in flush frames with glazing bars, but they are now boarded up. The doorcases have been removed. The Almshouses and Chapel form a cohesive group.
