Description

The Rose and Crown Public House dates from the late 18th or early 19th century. It is constructed of brown brick with a stucco band to the parapet, and the roof is not visible. The building has three storeys and originally three windows, with the two outer windows slightly projected forward. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, the central first-floor window having a shouldered architrave. The ground floor features an entablature with a cornice and architrave, and Corinthian pilasters are positioned between the windows. The building was formerly known as the Bowling Green Inn, due to its proximity to the former village Bowling Green. The Rose and Crown Public House, along with numbers 4 and 6, forms an important focal point at the junction of Bromley High Street and Devons Road.
