Description

The statue of W. E. Gladstone is located at the west end of St. Mary's Churchyard on Bow Road. This bronze statue stands on a round pedestal made of polished red granite and was sculpted by Albert Bruce-Joy. It was unveiled in 1882. The statue, along with St. Mary's Church, the iron railings, gate and piers to the churchyard, and bollards, creates a focal group in the center of Bow Road. It also groups with Our Lady of St. Catherine Roman Catholic Church and No. 199 on the north side of Bow Road.
