Description
Nos 17 and 19 on Campbell Road are an early 19th-century pair of houses. They are built from stock brick and feature a narrow, central, recessed full-height panel. The hipped slate roof has wide bracketed eaves soffits. The houses have a stucco basement and a stuccoed string course at the first-floor sill height. They stand three storeys tall with a basement, each house having two sash windows. The ground and first-floor windows are set in double segmental brick arches. The doorcases are adorned with stucco panelled pilasters, a cornice hood, and an entablature, while the doors have arched panels. The area railings are topped with arrowhead finials. These houses form a group with Nos 2 to 44 (even) and Nos 1 to 27 (odd) on the same street, as well as Nos 35 to 49 on Arnold Road and Nos 1 to 25 on Tomlins Grove.
