Description

Nos 21 and 23 on Campbell Road are an early 19th-century pair of houses. They are constructed of stock brick and feature a narrow, central, recessed, full-height panel. The hipped slate roof has wide bracketed eaves soffits. The buildings have a stucco basement and a stuccoed string course at the first-floor sill height. They rise three storeys with a basement and each house has two sash windows. The ground and first-floor windows are set in double segmental brick arches. The doorcases include a stucco cornice, entablature, and pilasters, while the doors have arched panels. The area railings have arrowhead finials. These houses are part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 44 (even) and Nos 1 to 27 (odd), along with Nos 35 to 49 on Arnold Road and Nos 1 to 25 on Tomlins Grove.
