No 398 on Commercial Road is an early 19th-century building made of yellow stock brick, featuring a coped parapet and stucco bands between each floor. The building has four storeys and a basement, with three windows that are unbarred sashes topped with gauged flat arches. The first-floor windows are set in recessed brick arches with stucco bands at the impost height. There is a round-headed doorway and wrought iron railings.
