No. 400 on Commercial Road is an early 19th-century building made of brown brick, with the top storey repaired using stock brick. The roof is not visible. The building has four storeys, a basement, and features dormers. It has three windows on the lower floors with red brick flat gauged arches, while the top floor windows have segmental arches. The windows are sashes without glazing bars. There is a round-headed doorway that includes a mask keystone and impost bands. The property is complemented by wrought iron railings.
