Description
This is a terrace of three houses located at 153, 155, and 157 Friary Road, built around 1836. The houses are constructed of stock brick in Flemish bond, featuring a narrow stucco cornice. The facade of No. 157 is faced with stucco, and all three houses have tiled roofs.
Each house is two storeys tall with three windows, and the facades are symmetrically arranged around entrances that are set within projecting aedicules, with one window on either side of the doors. The ground-floor openings for Nos. 153 and 157 are round-arched, while No. 155 has segmental-arched openings on both floors. The upper-floor windows for Nos. 153 and 157 are flat-arched. All windows feature 6x6 sashes of an authentic design, and the doors are six-panel designs, each topped with a fanlight.
The interior has not been inspected. This terrace is included for its group value with the adjacent houses at Nos. 127-151 (odd).
