Description

Fontenoy House is a detached house dating to circa 1830. It is constructed of stucco and features a heavy cornice and parapet. The house is three storeys high with a basement, and has a three-bay facade. A prostyle Doric porch with square columns and an entablature is centrally placed. The central doorway is round-arched, with pilasters, a corniced head, and a plain fanlight. Sash windows with glazing bars are present throughout; those on the ground floor are round-headed, set within round-arched recesses with moulded arches and pilaster surrounds. Upper-floor windows are square-headed and feature plain eared architraves. A first-floor sill band runs across the facade. The interior was not inspected during the listing process. A cast-iron gate is situated between square stucco gate posts and is a subsidiary feature to the house.
