Description

No. 43 Albury Street is an early 18th-century house of two storeys, with an attic and a sunk basement, originally featuring two windows. The house is constructed of multicoloured stock brick, with a parapet concealing the roof. A single, low-pitched gabled dormer window is visible. The upper part of the wall has been rebuilt. Red brick dressings are present in the lower part of the building, and the wall below the ground floor windows is rendered. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set in flush box frames. Sunk panels are positioned below the ground floor windows. The front door consists of fielded panels set within a moulded architrave. Pilasters and a pulvinated frieze remain of the original doorcase; the bracketed hood was removed for safekeeping and is to be restored by GIG. Nos. 13 to 45 (odd) form a group.
