Description

Number 37 on Albury Street is an early 18th-century building featuring two storeys, an attic, and a sunk basement, with four windows. It has a tiled mansard roof with one square dormer. The second window from the right on the upper floors is blocked. The building is made of multicoloured stock brick with a parapet that has been partly rebuilt, and it includes some red brick dressings. The original sash windows have been replaced and are set in new flush box frames. There are recessed panels below the ground floor windows. The entrance door consists of ten fielded panels and is framed by a moulded architrave, with a pulvinated frieze, panelled pilasters, and a cornice hood supported by elaborate carved brackets. The building is scheduled for restoration by the Greater London Council. Numbers 13 to 45 (odd) on Albury Street form a group with this property.
