Description
Nos 13 and 15 Albury Street are early 18th century buildings, each featuring two storeys, an attic, and a sunk basement, with three windows. They are constructed from multi-coloured stock brick and have high-pitched roofs; No 13 has a slated roof while No 15 has been renewed with modern felt. Both buildings have flat dormers and a parapet front, with the first floor rebuilt. The ground floor windows have gauged red brick arches and jambs, with sash windows that include glazing bars set in flush, moulded frames with recessed panels below. The lower part of No 13 is rendered.
No 13 features a door with four fielded panels, a cornice head, and a rectangular fanlight within a plain wood reveal with a moulded architrave. Although the panelled pilasters remain, the bracketed cornice hood has been removed for repair, and the house is currently boarded up. No 15 has a door made up of two, one, two, one, two fielded panels with small oval lights inserted in the top two panels, along with a moulded architrave. It also has panelled pilasters and a cornice hood supported by elaborate carved brackets. These houses are part of a Greater London Council scheme to restore the street. Nos 13 to 45 (odd) form a group.
