Description

Nos 29 and 31 on Albury Street are early 18th-century buildings, each featuring two storeys and a sunk basement with three windows, the leftmost being very narrow. They are constructed from multicoloured stock brick with red brick dressings and have a parapet. The sash windows, which have glazing bars and are early 19th-century in style, are set beneath gauged brick arches and are in original flush frames. Below the ground floor windows, there are recessed panels.

No 29 has a door with eight fielded panels, topped with a cornice head and a rectangular fanlight, all within a moulded architrave. The doorcase has been partially removed for safe-keeping, leaving only the impost blocks and pulvinated frieze, and the house is currently boarded up. No 31 features a door with ten fielded panels, also in a moulded architrave with a pulvinated frieze. This door is supported by panelled pilasters and brackets adorned with angels' heads, which hold up a cornice hood. Restoration of these features is planned by the GIC.

Nos 13 to 45 (odd) form a group with these buildings.
