Description
Number 17 on Albury Street is an early 18th-century building that stands three stories tall and features three windows. It is constructed from multi-coloured stock brick and has parapet fronts that partially conceal a high-pitched roof. An old brick chimney is located on the left side of the building. The structure has red brick quoins, window jambs, and gauged brick window arches, with the arches on the first and second floors being segmental. The center window on the second floor is blocked. The second-floor windows are 19th-century sashes, while the first-floor windows are modern casements, and the ground-floor windows are late 18th-century sashes, all set in flush or near-flush box frames. Below the first and ground-floor windows, there are recessed panels. The door features four fielded panels and two flat panels, topped with a cornice head and a patterned fanlight within a moulded architrave. The frieze includes paterae and swags, with panelled pilasters and a cornice hood supported by carved brackets. The building is set to be restored by the Greater London Council. Number 17 is part of a group with numbers 13 to 45 (odd).
