Description
Nos 201 to 209 on Stockwell Road, built around 1929, form a three-storey symmetrical terrace in pale terra-cotta. This building was constructed as an ancillary feature to the Astoria Cinema. The ground floor consists of shops, with bays defined by pilasters that rest on a cornice and support an entablature featuring a coved cornice with a feather pattern. The parapet is panelled and ramps up from the lower ends. The upper windows are wide and tripartite, while the shop fronts are separated by plain pilasters. This building is included for its group value.
