Description
The bronze statue of Edward VI is located at the north entrance to the ward block of the North Wing at St Thomas' Hospital. It was created in 1736 by the sculptor Scheemakers. The statue depicts Edward VI in period dress and stands on a tall plinth that features an inscription stating that it was erected at the expense of Charles Toye Esq. Originally, the statue was situated in the old Southwark hospital and was moved to its current location in Lambeth in 1870.
